Welcome to the 2023 Men’s Member Guest – the most fun 24 hours in golf!
Format:
The ball will be played as it lies through the green, with the exception of the Captains Choice format (see local rule 1a) in round 2 and in bunkers (see local rule 1b)
Scoring: 2 Person Team Stableford.
Stableford is a scoring system that awards points for the number of strokes taken per hole in relation to par.
The point layout is as follows:
4 points for an eagle
3 points for birdie
2 points for par
1 point for bogey
0 points double bogey or worse
Round 1 format: Better ball of partners
Round 2 format: Captains choice/Scramble
Round 3 format: Humps & Bumps – Better ball of partners (points will be awarded as follows: 2 points for a 1 putt, 1 point for a 2 putt and 0 points for 3 putts or worse)
Round 4 format: Better ball of partners
Flight winners will be determined by the total Stableford points after 4 rounds. These teams will qualify for the championship shootout.
The SHOOTOUT will be played on the Humps & Bumps putting course as laid out by the professional staff. It will be a 3-hole playoff, better ball of partners. The highest points score after 3 holes will determine the 2023 Champions. If there is a tie after 3-holes, the teams will continue on the 3-hole loop in sudden death format until a winner is declared.
Tees:
Men will play from the blue tees.
Ladies will play from the white tees.
Handicaps:
The field has been flighted by the average combined handicap index of each team. The competition will be based on gross scores.
Ties:
In the event of a tie between teams in a given flight ties will be broken starting with back 6 points score, followed by front 6 points score, and if necessary hole by hole gross score working from 12 backwards until the tie is broken.
Local Rules:
Local rule 1a. Lift, clean and place will be in operation for the round 2 Captains Choice format. A player may move his/her ball one club length no nearer the hole and current condition must be maintained.
Local rule 1b. Throughout the competition all bunkers located on the golf course are to be played as lift, clean, and place. A player may move his/her ball one club length no nearer the hole and must remain in the bunker.
Local rule 1c. The netting behind the 9th green is to be considered a manmade structure and as such relief can be taken one club length should it impede stance or swing.
Local rule 1d. If a sprinkler head is in your intended line of play, you can take relief. Find the nearest point of relief and you have 1 club length from there – no closer to the hole. The sprinkler must be in your intended line of play, be within 2 club lengths of your ball and within 2 club lengths of the putting green.
